Metal Braces

Modern metal braces are not the outdated old braces that come to mind when people think about orthodontics. Modern metal braces are far more comfortable and smaller than those of past years. The brackets are much smaller, and the wires are relatively thin. They are much more comfortable and even stylish to wear. Metal braces can come in a variety of bright brackets and rubber bands to offer you a unique smile. Metal braces are a popular option because of it is affordable, easy to install, and clinically proven to align teeth.

Lingual Braces

Our lingual-braced clients tell us most of the time nobody realize they are wearing braces. This is because the braces are place behind the teeth. Lingual braces are similarly design like traditional metal braces. An impression of the teeth is made then sent to laboratory to make a custom fit bracket. This process ensures that the braces fit properly behind the teeth. Like traditional braces, lingual braces will have a bracket, wires, and rubber strip system functions to straighten your teeth. The main difference between the two brace types is that the lingual braces are completely low key. Because of the need to custom fit, lingual braces will take more time to install and cost more than traditional metal braces.

Clear or Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are like metal braces and work the same way to fix teeth misalignments. However, these clear or ceramic braces have subtle differences from traditional braces. They are a collection of wires and bands but they connect to transparent, almost difficult to see, plastic or ceramic brackets color like natural teeth. The dentist also provides opaque rubber bands to patients to help keep the braces virtually unnoticeable. Clear or ceramic braces are esthetically pleasing compared to metal braces; however, ceramic braces may not be as durable as metal braces. Ceramic braces can easily chip or crack and is a much more expensive option.

Invisalign

While Invisalign is technically not a brace device, it is an extremely popular way of correct misaligned teeth. Invisalign use several customized clear plastic alignment trays slip over your teeth to gently guide your teeth carefully to the correct position. Adults who want to be discreet about their braces prefer Invisalign. Invisalign is a great choice because they do not require extensive maintenance and lifestyle changes. Often with traditional braces, patients are recommended to avoid eating sticky or hard foods. These types of foods can damage the braces or cause other dental issues. Invisalign allows you to maintain your lifestyle without making a huge adjustment. However, Invisalign may not be always be a good option when teeth that are severely misaligned requires adjustment.
