California Dental Group Provides Free Emergency Treatment in Upland
UPLAND >> Judith Lucero frequently broke out into smiles Sunday afternoon after waiting for more than six hours to receive a free front veneer at California Dental Group.
“It feels great,” said Lucero, 30.
The Rancho Cucamonga resident, who said she is unemployed and has no insurance, had waited in line since 6:30 a.m. to get the dental surgery.
“It was sensitive” before the surgery, she said, “and now there’s absolutely no pain.”
Dentists at California Dental Group here provided free emergency treatment to patients like Lucero on Sunday at its Upland Office, 930 W. Foothill Blvd., Suite D.
Officials said the services were offered to help people who can’t afford to go to a dentist.
The event took place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at California Dental Group’s Upland, Tustin and Eagle Rock offices. On Wednesday, a similar event took place at the Glendale, Burbank, Whittier and Oxnard offices.
Dentist Ed Bishay said patients like Lucero made him feel great.
He said he took some before-and-after photos with patients who had chipped teeth and ingrown roots repaired.
